is_link

Tells whether the filename is a symbolic link (PHP 3, PHP 4 )
bool is_link ( string filename )

Returns TRUE if the filename exists and is a symbolic link.

Note:

The results of this function are cached. See clearstatcache() for more details.

Note:

This function will not work on remote files as the file to be examined must be accessible via the servers filesystem.
